Control 2019: Innovations, IoT, new booth design

Control, being the world’s leading trade fair for quality management, is of great significance for Mitutoyo. The 33rd edition saw the brand present a wealth of new products, informative lectures, innovative IoT solutions and a whole new look for the booth.

From May 7 through 10, 2019 the show in Stuttgart opened the gates for professionals of the quality assurance sector. It goes without saying that Mitutoyo as one of the world’s market leaders in the branch presented their top technology on a large booth, measuring no less than 540 square meters. This year’s booth boasted an industrial look with two large containers. The products were presented in the context of the branches automotive, medical, electronics, IoT and calibration. A large LED pillar showed videos of Mitutoyo devices in action.

Right at the core of the booth a small stage was a visitor magnet with presentations on the new data management software MeasurLink V9 and the wireless data transmission system U-Wave fit.

Among the visitors the novelties were very popular. Especially the new shop-floor CNC CMM MiSTAR 555 with its cantilever design and the brand-new hardness tester HR-600 attracted a large number of people. Mitutoyo also presented the highly modern “Quick Scope QS-L/AF“ vision measuring machine with high-speed auto-focus, a new 3-MP camera and a new, powerful choice of lenses.

One of the stars of the booth was the new measuring instrument Formtracer Avant FTA. The newly designed series will come in 5 different variants and replaces full-fledged semi-automated contour and surface roughness measuring machines, saving a vast amount of money and space. The drive unit can be changed by simply opening a thumb-turn clamp and clamping the new drive unit into the system.

Not only information but also edutainment is what the touchscreen tables offered the visitors. Those who placed one of the sensor-equipped small tools on the table received a wealth of information, including images and videos about the particular device.

On the North side of the booth the brand presented their linear scales, handheld measuring devices and their large range of fixtures.

The Control show 2020 will take place from May 5 through 8.
